• Ecumenical Focus: COAAB serves as an umbrella network [synod] and training college for episcopates and apostolic ministries, bridging the Convergence Movement, High Church Pentecostalism, Independent Catholicism, and Continuing/Realigning Anglicanism.

• Core Theological Standard: The Synod bases its doctrinal unity on what it describes as "one Bible, two Testaments, three ecumenical creeds [Apostles', Nicene, and Athanasian], four ecumenical councils, three cristological statements of the last three ecumenical councils, and the first five centuries of Christianity."

• Primary Mission: It emphasizes structural integrity, ministerial ethics, proper ecclesial order, and accountability in the episcopacy, counteracting rogue or informal consecrations by establishing rigid education, mentorship, and credentials for clergy and church leaders.

• The Episcopal Training Institute: The educational arm of the Congress providing for formal training of incoming and existing bishops, presbyters, deacons, and church leaders in various ecclesial and theological disciplines.

• Midterm & Annual Congresses: Regular national and regional congresses are held each year for episcopal consecrations, clerical ordinations, theological training and dialogue, and the worship of Christ through Word and Sacrament.

• Apostolic Succession: Our Apostolic Succession is attested to by our faith and practice and by the ecumenical relationships we have with various Old Catholic, Western Rite Orthodox, and various Anglican & Convergence Church Communions.
